Michael Russo

M.A., LMHC, NCC

Counseling helps me fulfill my life purpose of helping others. My Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling allows me to combine my love for deep relationships with a passion to help people experience healing and wholeness in life.

I grew up on the West Coast, with boating and mountaineering being my two biggest passions. I use the term “mental health Sherpa” because I’ve climbed many ice-covered peaks, including Mt. Rainier with an actual Sherpa guide. I have a strong sense of what it takes to persevere through adversity to reach a goal. I think that making progress with one’s mental health is similarly demanding. I am honored to serve as an experienced guide for others.

On my journey, I’ve suffered pain, loss, spiritual disillusionment, emotional abuse, and betrayal. These cumulative losses led me to pursue a unique certification in Death & Grief Studies through The Center for Loss and Life Transition in Ft. Collins, CO. Western society does not care well for people in grief, and it is a special passion of mine to provide a safe space for people to heal.
